GREATER FLEXIBILITY ON SITE: ROTOTILT AND TOPCON PARTNERSHIP

We caught up with Sven-Roger Ekström Product Manager at Rototilt to discuss the partnership with Topcon, as well as explore what the brand is showcasing at Intermat 2018.

Developed in 1986, the tiltrotator can be fitted to an excavator to increase the number of jobs the machine can do – for example it can be used to fit compactors, sweeper rollers, cutters, sorters, grapples and concrete cutters to the machine. The system is widely used in Scandinavia. Although adoption has been much slower across the rest of Europe, this has changed in recent years as the tiltrotator becomes much more common on sites. For us it’s all about flexibility, we turn excavators into a multifunctional machine.

We began working with Topcon in 2015 in partnership to integrate the technology into our offering – it’s the next step in providing complete flexibility and ease of working for both operators and project managers. Rototilt's positioning solution, RPS, works with Topcon’s machine control systems to accurately position movements of the machine attachments. This means that the machine can be controlled in relation to a design making it more accurate and removing the potential for error.

At Intermat 2018, we’ll be showcasing our technology through screening the interior of an excavator cab on a big screen on stand. Visitors to our stand will be able to see everything the operator sees – including the data displayed on the in-cab screen and the movement of the excavator.

Visit our Rototilt stand at 5B P 020 and outside at E2 D 033, and the Topcon stand 6 G 028 to find out more. Rototilt and Topcon will be hosting hourly joint demonstrations each day.
